Skid Loader Operators

Responsibilities 

  • Clear the work area by removing debris, old pavement, or obstructions. 
  • Grading and leveling checks to ensure the base surface is properly graded and leveled for asphalt placement. 
  • Perform pre-shift equipment inspections and ensure all safety protocols are followed. 
  • Coordinate with the paving crew, foreman, and other team members to maintain workflow and address any issues.
  • Perform excavating requirements. 
  • Ability to effectively remove existing pavement surfaces and setup work for paving.

Qualifications

  • CDL Preferred.
  • Minimum three years experience within the construction industry with excavating. 
  • Knowledge of Rollers and other heavy equipment.
  • Knowledge of construction materials, construction processes and industry requirements. 
  • Understanding of computerized controls and electronics.
  • 3+ experience within the construction industry.
  • 2+ years experience operating skid loaders in and setup/excavating environment is required.

Roller Operator 

Responsibilities

  • Operate the roller and other heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
  • Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment.
  • Maintain and ensure vehicle and equipment are stock with needed materials.
  • Safely operate roller in successive overlapping passes over surfaces to be compacted, rolling asphalt to desired compaction and smoothness.
  • Operate the Breakdown roller to achieve proper compaction.
  • Operate the Finish Roller in successive overlapping passes to apply the final finish, and remove imperfections with a finish roller.
  • Train new employees in the safe and efficient operation of the Roller.
  • Ensure the job site is clean and free of excess material. 

Qualifications 

  • Class A Driver’s License Preferred. 
  • Minimum three years experience within the construction industry.
  • Knowledge of Rollers and other heavy equipment.
  • Knowledge of construction materials, construction processes and industry requirements. 
  • Understanding of computerized controls and electronics.
  • 3+ experience within the construction industry.
  • 2+ years experience operating Breakdown Rollers, Rubber Tire Rollers and/or Finish Rollers is required. 

General Laborer

Responsibilities

  • Perform general laborer duties on grading and paving crews in a safe.
  • Be efficient and proper manner to achieve a quality finished product.
  • Physical labor such as shoveling, raking, lifting, and moving equipment.
  • Prior grading or paving experience a plus but not required.

Qualifications

  • Strong safety mindset.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds 
  • Positive attitude, effectively work within a team environment.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Clean driving record and ability to obtain a CDL.
  • Ability to work outdoors in diverse weather conditions.
  • Be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

CDL Truck Driver

Responsibilities

  • Maintain truck log according to state and federal regulations when traveling out of state.
  • Maintain all paperwork.
  • Maintain constant contact with Foreman to receive pickup and/or delivery instructions, and keep them informed of any safety issues.
  • Inspect truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water to ensure roadworthiness.
  • Perform Pre-trip inspections (correctly complete driver's logbook) on the vehicle and be able to explain what one inspects and why.
  • Maneuver and control the vehicle in a safe fashion, which includes handling the vehicle on-site and in over-the-road situations, proper signaling, searching for hazards, controlling speed, lane positioning, matching speed to road conditions, and the ability to drive daytime or nighttime.
  • Responsible for routine fueling, lubricating, and basic servicing of the vehicle.
  • Must understand the air brake system if the vehicle is equipped with the system.
  • May need to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to perform all of the above job functions in a safe manner in order to avoid personal injury and equipment damage.
  • Must be open to some labor work when not operating a vehicle and be able to assist ground crews on daily tasks.

Qualifications

  • Must have a current and valid Commercial Driver's License for the State of Minnesota.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment is a must.
  • Previous commercial driving experience.
